After graduating from App Academy in March of 2022, I embarked on an exhilarating journey at Meta, where I spent a year as a Frontend Developer II before earning a well-deserved promotion to Software Engineer III in 2023. Throughout my time at Meta, I have been privileged to collaborate with diverse and talented teams while simultaneously handling multiple projects. My contributions span the entire development lifecycle, from initial planning and wireframing to delivering robust MVPs and implementing additional features. I take pride in presenting my work and onboarding teams seamlessly into the development process.
My passion for technology and innovation has led me to contribute to various open-source projects, including developing documentation websites for projects like 'aepsych.' Additionally, I have been instrumental in creating sophisticated metrics tools to assess hardware measurements, and I take pride in my role in developing a DevOps dashboard to enhance build health monitoring for continuous integration and pull request jobs, streamlining the debugging process.
My journey as a software engineer has been characterized by continuous learning and growth, and I relish exploring new technologies and techniques to enhance user experiences and achieve cutting-edge solutions. I am excited to continue my pursuit of excellence, driving impactful projects, and making a meaningful impact in the world of software engineering.
Growing up, I enjoyed learning about computers interacting with software, and following software updates to explore new features and improvements. At an early age, I taught myself how to manipulate the operating system on my iPhone to customize the user interface.
While working for the County of Sonoma as a Human Services Supervisor, I developed my leadership and collaboration skills. I was a subject matter expert and assisted with the planning and development of the first California Statewide Automated Welfare System in which I worked with 58 countries across the state. Being amongst Software Engineers inspired me, and this further developed my passion for engineering. I knew that I wanted to become more involved in creating and developing applications. This led me to change careers.
My passion for technology deepened during college, where I earned an IT certificate and taught myself programming through hands-on projects and studying documentation. I discovered the joy of blending art and technology to bring creative ideas to life. I attended Eastern Gateway Community College and earned the Google IT Professional Certificate, then continued my studies in computer science at Santa Rosa Junior College. This period laid the foundation for my career in software development, as I honed my skills and built a strong understanding of technology.
I joined a 24-week immersive web development program where I shared my skills in JavaScript, Python, along with other technologies. I applied my knowledge to build four dynamic full-stack applications.
As a Frontend Developer II at Facebook aka Meta, I play a crucial role in crafting engaging and responsive user interfaces. My responsibilities include modifying and enhancing software applications, identifying and correcting frontend errors, and actively contributing to project proposals and planning. During my tenure, I had the opportunity to collaborate on impactful projects for Facebook Research, where I spearheaded the development of an API documentation website and data visualization dashboards. This experience allowed me to delve deep into the frontend development process, honing my skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React while delivering seamless user experiences.
As a Software Engineer at Meta, my role has evolved to encompass a more comprehensive approach to software engineering. I actively contribute to complex and high-impact projects, leading the development process from planning to deployment. My responsibilities extend to backend development, frontend architecture, and seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies. I have had the privilege to collaborate with diverse and talented teams, working on multiple projects simultaneously. My contributions span the entire development lifecycle, from planning and wireframing to delivering robust MVPs and implementing additional features. This experience has sharpened my problem-solving skills, allowed me to explore new technologies, and enhanced my ability to drive impactful solutions for Meta's software initiatives.
I contribute to Samsara's localization efforts by migrating the codebase to the Lokalise framework, enabling accurate, multilingual translations for customers. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I help streamline workflows and improve translation processes to enhance the global user experience.
